Affordable School Uniforms program
Our Affordable School Uniforms program ensures that Victorian government school students have access to the clothing, footwear and items they need to participate fully in school life.
By supplying essential items directly to schools, we remove barriers to engagement and help students feel included from day one. The program reaches approximately 85 per cent of Victorian government schools and supports families experiencing financial hardship with discreet, school-based delivery.
Our goal is simple: every student attends school with confidence, dignity and a sense of belonging.
We provide quality items including:
- Top items (such as polo shirts, dresses, and tunics)
- Bottom items (such as trousers, tracksuits, and skorts)
- Underwear (such as briefs and socks)
- Outerwear (such as jumpers, rain jackets, and hoodies)
- Shoes (such as casual sneakers, lace up shoes, and Velcro sneakers)
- Headwear (such as beanies, hats, and hijabs)
- Swimwear (such as swimmers, goggles, and towels)
- Workwear (such as Hi-Vis garments, workwear bottoms and work boots)
- Tailored packs (such as stationery packs)
- And other support (such as head lice solution and headphones)
Items are delivered directly to schools in plain packaging to protect student privacy.
Vouchers
Please note: Where appropriate, vouchers may be provided for use at school uniform suppliers. Families may need to cover any difference between the voucher value and the total purchase amount. Items are subject to availability and may be offered on a seasonal basis.

Eligibility*
Support is available to any student attending a Victorian government school - primary, secondary or specialist - on the advice of the school.
Short-term crisis and long-term financial need are the primary qualifying criteria for support. This may include, but is not limited to:

Family violence

House fire

Natural disaster

Financial hardship

Family illness

Emergency situations
No health care card or additional documentation is required. Schools determine eligibility based on their knowledge of the student’s circumstances.

Uniform packages for Prep and Year 7 students
Each year, students transitioning into Prep or Year 7 may be eligible for a complimentary uniform package.
2026 Year 7 uniform packs

Graphing Calculators
Our Graphing Calculator program supports access to senior mathematics and STEM pathways by ensuring cost is not a barrier to participation.
Graphing calculators are an essential learning tool for many secondary students undertaking advanced mathematics subjects. We provide calculators to eligible students where financial hardship would otherwise prevent access.
Authorised school contacts can submit applications via the online application portal. Approved items are usually despatched within 3 business days.

Returns and exchanges
Returns
Items must be unworn, unused and in original packaging. For hygiene reasons, briefs, singlets, swimwear and socks cannot be returned.
Schools should pack items with a completed returns form and contact State Schools Relief to arrange collection.
Exchanges
To request a different size or item:
- Submit a new application via the portal
- Complete all details
- Include the original application reference number
Applications are processed within 3 business days.
