iPads for non-verbal students
Our iPad program supports non-verbal students in specialist schools to communicate, participate in learning and build meaningful connections.
Students receive iPads that support the use of specialised communication software, enabling interaction with teachers, peers, carers and families. Software is managed by schools based on individual student needs.
Working in partnership with specialist schools and allied health professionals, we identify students most affected by communication barriers and provide targeted support.
The impact is significant. Students who were previously unable to express their needs are now engaging in classroom activities and participating in everyday interactions. Families report stronger connections at home, while teachers observe increased confidence and improved learning outcomes.
Please note: applications are not open year-round - schools are notified directly when application periods open.
Authorised school contacts can submit applications via the online application portal. Approved devices are usually despatched within 3 business days.
In 2025 alone, 455 iPads were distributed across Victoria.
